 Former minister and JD(S) core committee chief GT Devegowda on Thursday said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been lucky since he joined politics in the 1980s.

Referring to the Lokayukta giving a clean chit to the CM and his family members in the MUDA scam, the JD(S) leader said he knew from the beginning that the case would not hold water.

Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi has never involved herself in any activities she was accused of because her husband became CM twice. Siddaramaiah also never set his eyes on money since he joined politics, Devegowda said. He also ruled out a change of CM as CM Siddaramaiah enjoys the support of the majority of Congress MLAs.

Mysuru district in-charge minister HC Mahadevappa, a close associate of the CM, also said the Lokayukta report has stated what he was saying all along.
